Book Review -Waking in Time- Angie Stanton
I have to say, I do struggle with time travel books; I like novels with continuity and I always feel like they jump around too much. To date this is the only time travel book that I have finished , so that should tell you a lot.
I love the concept in this book and the writing means it flows easily. I also really cared about the characters and what happened to them and liked the feisty nature of the main character, who has mostly female role models in her life. I did lose the thread a bit in the middle and had to put the book down, but when I picked it back up the story quickened and the ending was just beautiful; I cried for two chapters. I adore the fact that the characters are based on real people from the authors life and that she created this story because she couldn't find out the real information about some long lost relatives; this makes the story so much more meaningful.
I'm glad I stuck with this book because it really has touched me. I feel somehow much more appreciative for what I have and I love it when a book surprises me like that. 4/5 for me.
